Bordeaux, France

We were up early for the 400km drive to Bordeaux. Halfway, we had to stop for fuel but once again, could not open the fuel cap. This time It was jammed closed. Finally Gwen broke it opened. We arrived in Bordeaux too early to check in, so we left our car at the hotel, and jumped on a tram to the city. We had no coins, so we ended up riding the five stops for free. Bordeaux has a population of 1 million. They have an intense rivalry with Paris, similar to the rivalry between Melbourne and Sydney.
The city is very picturesque with beautiful fountains and spectacular buildings. There was an amazing mirror lake by the river as well that reflected everything. We took lots of photos, then went to the local fair, where we rode the ferris wheel, so we could get some photos from above the city. We took the tram back at 6pm, checked in, and set off to find some dinner. All we could find was a supermarket, so we bought some baguettes, cheese, ham and eclairs. We took them back to the hotel, and ate in whilst watching “The Simpsons” in French.
