Ajaccio, Corsica
Monday, November 7 Corsica
After breakfast, we walked off the ship onto the island of Corsica, the birthplace of Napoleon. We took photos of us in front of Napoleon and the four lions, and Napoleon and his four brothers. We kicked the footy in Napoleon Square, before looking for Napoleon’s home. It is now a museum, but was shut on Mondays. So we walked up and down the main street browsing the shops. Gwen bought some new shoes. We went back to the ship and I played some Shuffleboard on the sports deck with Zeke and Jamaica.
It was lunch on the Lido deck once more, before we had an afternoon siesta. The past six weeks must be catching up with us. There was a tropical cyclone in the Mediterranean between Italy and France and we cruised straight through it. The sea was very rough. Zeke, Jamaica and Gwen were all unwell. I had dinner alone, and we all went to bed early. During the night, glasses were falling over in the room. It was a very rough night!
