Positano, Italy

Wednesday, November 2 Positano
The plan for today was to take the ferry to Amalfi and Positano and explore the Amalfi coast. The shuttle bus dropped us at the ferry port at 9:30am, where we found that ferry season ended yesterday! We had to make alternate plans, so we headed to tourist information, and found out how we could get to Positano by bus.
It was a 2hr trip one way, and the roads were unbelievable. The windiest and narrowest I have seen. I am so glad that I didn’t have to drive. By the time we reached Amalfi, I was feeling car sick, so after swapping buses, I slept the rest of the way.
The bus dropped us off at the top of Positano. The views were spectacular, but we had to make our own way down to the beach, on foot. We had lunch at a restaurant on the beach, before the kids took of their shoes and waded in the water, while Gwen and I slept on the beach.
We had a lemon slushee for dessert. Apparently, the Amalfi coast is famous for its lemons. Gwen even had some limoncello with her lunch. We had fun playing some beach basketball with the locals, and skimming some stones, before catching the bus back to Salerno.
We spent 4 hours in Salerno, shopping and eating dinner. Zeke bought some new jeans, while Gwen and I bought some tops. (We urgently need to do another laundry!) The shuttle bus driver picked us up at 8:30pm, and we were back at our hotel by 9pm.
