October 14 Pisa
We were up early to jump on a 3 hour train ride to Pisa. Once at Pisa, we just walked in the general direction until Zeke noticed the top of the leaning tower around a corner. We came in the back entrance somehow, where there were not many people. We took the footy out of Zeke’s bag and had a kick of the footy on the grass, while Gwen was taking photos. We got some great shots, where it looks like I was kicking the footy over the leaning tower. This only lasted until the police came and told us to get off the grass. I guess if we had have come in by the front entrance, we would have noticed the signs… oh well, we got some good photos, that looked like we were the only ones there. When we walked around o the front, there were 1000s of people there taking photos. I wonder how many of them have pictures of this little pink footy in their photos of the leaning tower of Pisa?
We had some Gelati in Pisa, then took the train back to Manarola, where Gwen, Zeke and Jamaica had a dip in the Mediterranean. They were jumping off rocks and into the fish-filled water. We jumped on a boat that took us to the other end of Cinque Terre, a small town called Monte Rosso. It was great to get a perspective of the five small towns from sea, and see how amazing these little towns are hidden in the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
We jumped on the train back to Moneglia, had pasta for dinner, then packed our bags ready for an early start to Venice in the morning.
